A small angel pendant polished from natural tiger's eye, with a drilled loop. The silky sheen of the warm, golden-brown stone travels with each movement; the fine angel form is at once ornament and personal symbol. The pendant comes without a cord, so it can be strung on a leather thong or a chain to the wearer's taste.
Tiger's eye, fact and tradition
Tiger's eye is a golden-brown quartz with a silky sheen, marked by a banded play of light called chatoyancy, caused by parallel embedded fibrous inclusions. Its hardness is around Mohs 7, and its main source is South Africa. In the crystal tradition it is known as a stone of courage and protection, linked by many to grounding and confidence, all of which is tradition, not medical fact.
The angel as a motif
Angel figures are symbols of care and protection; many wear them as a quiet reminder of connection with their own guardian angel. The warm, sun-coloured glow of tiger's eye gives the angel form a lively, encouraging mood.
Wearing and care
The pendant is about 3 cm and is nickel, lead and cadmium free. It is polished from a natural mineral, so the banding and shade are unique to each piece. Clean with a soft cloth; protect it from hard knocks and prolonged contact with chemicals.
