Seven tubes, one harmonious sound
The hand tube chime is a handheld melodic instrument made of seven metal tubes, played with the included mallet. What makes it special is that its notes do not follow standard piano tuning but the so-called overtone series: the quiet partial tones that vibrate together in every naturally sounding note. As a result, whatever order you strike the tubes in, the notes always blend beautifully - it is practically impossible to play a wrong note.
What does the Venus tone at 442.4 Hz mean?
The base note of the instrument vibrates at 442.4 Hz, roughly corresponding to A4 on the piano, a pitch traditionally associated with the planet Venus. The seven tubes sound the natural overtones of this note, producing a soft, blended, rocking sound that suits quiet evening moments well.
How to use it day to day
The manufacturer recommends it specifically for sound journeys, sound baths, meditation and music therapy sessions. You can play it while walking beside a resting guest or holding it in your lap - even a gentle stroke of the tubes gives a full, long-ringing tone. No musical training is required.
Measurements and accessories
The manufacturer's mallet (model MA102) is included. The tube array measures approximately 59 × 65 × 3 cm and weighs 1.43 kg, so it remains comfortable to hold even during longer sessions. Made in Germany with careful workmanship.
