Smooth, tumbled amazonite stones in a soft, blue-green with fine lighter veining. The larger, assorted size makes a lovely palm stone, decoration or collector’s piece.
The stone of amazonite
Amazonite is the turquoise-green variety of microcline feldspar; its cool, blue-green colour and marbled veining are distinctive, with a Mohs hardness of around 6–6.5. In crystal lore it is known as a stone of joy, clarity and creative self-expression, and tradition holds that it calms the nerves and helps order one’s thoughts and speak creatively.
The tumbled form and A quality
Tumbled stones gain their smooth surface through long polishing, which brings out amazonite’s cheerful turquoise. A-quality pieces show a fine, full colour; as a natural mineral, the shade and veining can differ, and every stone is unique.
Ways to use it
Amazonite is a favourite palm stone and meditation piece; its cheerful colour suits a creative corner or a desk. It also looks lovely in a jar, a crystal corner and as a gift.
Care and good to know
Amazonite is moderately hard (Mohs around 6–6.5) and cleavable, so protect it from knocks and scratches and store it apart. Wipe it with a soft, barely damp cloth.
