A metallic crash that works at any volume
Most metal effect plates sound sharp and almost painful when played loud, yet thin and weak at low volume. This instrument, built from an aluminium sheet and carbon steel jingles, performs well in both situations: played loud it delivers a cutting crash, played softly it produces a surprisingly rich, sizzling shimmer - thanks to an internal construction similar to that of a snare drum.
How can you play it?
You can play it with your hands, sticks, brushes or rods - each brings out a different shade of its sound. Using the included percussion bracket you can mount the plate directly on your drum set, keeping it within easy reach while drumming. It suits many styles, from rock through electronic music to experimental genres where fresh, unusual sounds are wanted.
Construction and dimensions
The body is multilayer birch, combined with the aluminium sheet and a row of carbon steel jingles. It measures approx. 28 × 13.5 × 4.5 cm and weighs only about 555 grams - light yet sturdy. It is made in Germany and ships on a simple cardboard backing instead of plastic packaging, which is kinder to the environment.
Who is it for?
Drummers who want to add new colours to their kit, and anyone looking for a distinctive metallic voice in percussion accompaniment. If you enjoy varied sound colours, this plate will give you plenty of joy.
