This small altar table is made in Nepal, hand-painted with Buddhist motifs. The 36 × 22 cm size is compact, yet provides enough space for a Buddha statue, one or two candles and a few sacred objects to fit comfortably. Beneath the table there is a drawer where you can discreetly store your tools – incense, mantra cards, smaller pieces of jewellery.
Hand Painting and Antique Appearance
The decorations are hand-executed and intentionally have an antique look. Small scratches, paint omissions and faint tonal variations are deliberately added to the surface – these are not defects but marks of traditional Nepalese craftsmanship. Each table is unique, as no two pieces of hand-painting will ever be exactly the same.
Buddhist Motifs
Characteristic Buddhist symbols and colours appear on the surface: lotus, endless knot, dorje, along with vivid red, yellow, green and blue tones. The motifs are not only decorative but carry symbolic meaning that reinforces the sacred character of the altar.
The Function of the Drawer
The drawer beneath the table is both practical and discreet. Here you can keep your used incense, mantra cards, spare beads for a prayer rosary, or even notes you wish to have at hand during meditation. The drawer has a small handle that matches the table's decoration.
Size and Weight
The 36 × 22 cm surface is sufficient for placing a medium-sized Buddha statue (approximately 15-20 cm), one or two candles, a few crystals or malas. The gross weight is about 1.7 kg, which is enough for stable standing, but you can easily rearrange it if you wish to move the meditation corner to another spot from time to time.
What to Consider Before Buying
Due to the hand painting, the colours and pattern may differ from those shown in the photo. This is not a defect: a natural part of artisan work is that every piece is unique. The table is intended for indoor use; avoid direct sunlight and moisture.
