The fragrant tradition of the rose
The rose has been part of refined fragrance culture on the eastern Mediterranean coast for centuries, with the Damask variety being the most famous of all. Najel brings this classic note into an olive and laurel oil-based liquid soap, so freshly washed laundry will carry a delicate floral nuance for you. The liquid takes on a faint pinkish hue against the traditional oil base, while showing no signs of fading.
On which textiles it shows best
The rose scent emerges very naturally on cotton bedding, bath sheets, towels and light summer clothing. If you love the mood of a garden in bloom, washed bedding will turn the bedroom distinctly homely in the evening. It clings delicately to T-shirts and blouses too, bringing character without overpowering your own perfume.
Machine washing dose and tips
For a normal five-kilogram load thirty to forty millilitres into the detergent drawer is enough. For a stronger appearance of the fragrance do not add softener or vinegar to the machine, and choose a longer rinse cycle so that any residual soap is washed out. For heavily soiled garments fifty millilitres is enough, and you can confidently select sixty degrees too.
For hand-washing silk and cotton blouses
Pour two tablespoons into lukewarm water, soak the garment for ten to fifteen minutes and rinse in cold water. It also suits silk, fine cotton blouses and lace, as it is made without harsh laundry boosters or optical brighteners. Embroidered pillowcases can also be washed with it, provided they are dried at room temperature rather than in a tumble dryer.
Storage and shelf life
Keep the bottle in a cool dark place and use within eighteen months of opening. The natural rose fragrance may soften slightly over time, but the cleansing action remains unchanged throughout. The canister has a small vent hole, so it does not slosh or drip during dosing.
