Hand-pulled Lokta paper – craftsmanship from the Himalayas
Lokta paper is one of Nepal's oldest handmade products. The base is the bark fibre of the high-altitude Lokta shrub (Daphne papyracea), prepared by rural communities using a traditional method — spread out and sun-dried. The result is a slightly uneven yet silky sheet whose difference from mass-produced paper is felt the moment you hold it.
Characteristics of the mixed green leaf, cornflower and marigold variant
Three different botanical elements are embedded in the paper surface: green leaf pieces, blue cornflower petals and yellow-orange marigold petals. The overall effect is rich, varied, yet harmonious.
