If you work with light-sensitive essential oils, tinctures, or active-ingredient cosmetics in meaningful volumes, it pays to choose the most effective light protection available. This pack of 88 contains 50 ml black glass bottles with aluminium caps — a combination that brings together full light blocking and an airtight seal, suitable for small natural cosmetics makers and advanced DIY creators.
What is in the pack of 88
88 black glass bottles of 50 ml + 88 aluminium caps. Height: ~100 mm, diameter: ~42 mm, empty weight: ~75 g per piece. Pack gross weight is approximately 7.26 kg. The aluminium cap provides a leak-proof, chemically neutral seal, sized for a GL18 neck. Country of origin: China.
Black glass and full light blocking
Opaque black glass blocks essentially the entire light spectrum, including the UV range and almost all wavelengths of visible light. This level of protection is particularly justified for light-sensitive essential oils (citrus varieties, eucalyptus, chamomile), cold-pressed botanical oils (argan, jojoba), and cosmetics containing vitamin C, retinol, or other photo-unstable active ingredients. Black glass is the equivalent of cellar storage: maximum darkness.
Aluminium cap details
Aluminium is chemically inert and corrosion-resistant: it does not react with essential oils, imparts no off-flavours or odours, and contains no BPA, phthalates, or other plasticisers. The internal liner provides an airtight seal that prevents the evaporation of volatile components. Aluminium is also easily recyclable, which is an important consideration for natural cosmetics makers.
Areas of use
- Long-term storage of tinctures and botanical extracts
- Bottling light-sensitive essential oils (citrus, chamomile)
- Storing cold-pressed facial oils and body oils
- Bottling vitamin C or retinol facial serums
- Private label bottling of natural cosmetics
Cleaning and reuse
Before filling, wash in warm water with washing-up liquid, rinse thoroughly, and let dry completely. Residual scent from previous contents can be removed most effectively using 70% isopropyl alcohol. Avoid putting the aluminium cap in the dishwasher, as the liner can be damaged. Glass and aluminium can be recycled separately.
