This pack of 88 amber 50 ml bottles fitted with childproof caps is designed for households where concentrated essential oils, tinctures, or other skin-irritating preparations are stored in the presence of children or pets. The press-and-turn mechanism makes it harder for a small child to open the bottle by accident.
What the pack of 88 contains
The pack contains 88 amber UV-blocking glass bottles with a nominal fill capacity of 50 ml each, plus 88 childproof caps. Each bottle is approximately 100 mm tall and 42 mm in diameter. The neck is a GL18 standard thread. The cap consists of two parts: an inner permanent closure and a freely-rotating outer sleeve that engages with the inner part only when pressed. The estimated gross weight is ~5.3 kg, supplied in a shipping carton with breakage protection.
Amber glass and UV protection
Amber glass filters the UV spectrum and the shorter wavelengths of visible light — these photocatalysts trigger oxidation of volatile compounds. Stored in amber glass, concentrated essential oils and tinctures retain their original scent profile and active ingredient content significantly longer. Glass is chemically inert, does not react with oils, and contains no migratable plasticisers.
About the childproof cap
The press-and-turn mechanism works on the CR (child-resistant) principle: to open, the cap must be firmly pressed down and turned at the same time. The outer sleeve rotates freely, so a small child generally cannot open the bottle in a single motion. The cap is made of BPA-free plastic, is chemically inert, and does not react with essential oils long-term. Please note that a childproof cap does NOT guarantee complete inaccessibility — always store essential oils out of reach of children and pets.
Areas of use
- Safe storage of concentrated essential oils in households with children
- Bottling tinctures, herbal extracts, and botanical drops
- Storage of skin-irritating DIY cosmetics (acid toners, retinol serums)
- Safe, organised arrangement of aromatherapy blends on a shelf
- Secure closure of home-made household fragrance concentrates
Cleaning and refilling
Clean the bottle by soaking in warm water with a neutral detergent. For stubborn scent residues, rinse with 70% isopropyl alcohol. The childproof cap is in two parts but generally does not need to be disassembled; wiping the outside and rinsing the inside is sufficient. Avoid the dishwasher, as high heat and alkaline detergents can damage the plastic. After full drying, the bottle can be refilled immediately.
