It is corrosion-resistant and chemically inert: it does not react with essential oils and releases no BPA, phthalates, or other migratable plasticisers. Citrus oils and oils with a high monoterpene content — such as lemon, orange, or bergamot — can soften plastic caps over time, whereas aluminium resists these long-term. It provides an airtight, leak-proof seal and is easily recyclable.

Cleaning and refilling
Clean the bottle by soaking in warm water with a neutral detergent, then rinse thoroughly. For stubborn scent residues, rinse with 70% isopropyl alcohol. The aluminium cap can be cleaned the same way, but make sure the internal liner is fully dry before screwing it back on. Avoid the dishwasher. Properly cleaned bottles can be refilled many times.
