Concentrated essential oils and extracts can pose serious health risks to children or pets even in small quantities — which is why child-resistant closures are not an optional consideration for many small artisans and essential oil users. This 156-piece pack of 15 ml green glass bottles comes with a child-resistant (CR) cap that operates on the classic press-and-turn mechanism. The dual UV and blue light filtration of green glass additionally protects citrus and terpene-sensitive oils from light degradation.
What the 156-piece pack contains
The pack contains 156 green glass dropper bottles of 15 ml each, every bottle paired with a child-resistant cap. Each bottle is approximately 65 mm tall, 28 mm in diameter, with an average empty weight of 33 g (slightly more with the cap). The total gross weight of the pack is 5.148 kg. The neck uses a standard GL18 thread, and the CR cap mechanism provides a two-part dual closure.
Green glass and dual light filtration
Green glass, alongside its vintage apothecary appearance, offers broader light filtration than amber glass: it moderates blue wavelengths as well as UV. This particularly benefits citrus oils (bergamot, orange, grapefruit) and terpene-rich essences, which are more sensitive to blue light. Glass is chemically inert, so the scent profile of the contents remains clean, and the glass surface imparts no off-flavours or off-odours.
Child-resistant cap details
The CR cap consists of two parts: an inner threaded section and an outer freely-rotating ring. To open, the cap must be pressed down firmly while turning anticlockwise — this press-and-turn combination is difficult or impossible for young children to perform, while adults can handle it quickly with a little practice. The cap design harmonises with the international EN ISO 8317 standard.
Areas of use
- Safe storage of concentrated essential oils in households with children
- Citrus oils and high-terpene essences
- Mid-size bottling of herbal tinctures, propolis drops
- Aromatherapy recipes where access must be controlled
- Child-resistant packaging for your own cosmetic line
Cleaning and recycling
Before first use, wash the bottles and caps with warm water and mild detergent. Avoid the dishwasher, as long, high-temperature cycles can damage the CR cap mechanism. Stubborn scent residues can be removed with a 70% alcohol rinse. Green glass is recyclable; the plastic components of the cap should be collected separately in plastic recycling.
