Product EOUL-59 is a 10-piece, unlabelled set: ten 10 ml glass bottles, each filled with Indonesian Styrax benzoin resin extract in propylene glycol (DPG) dilution. The set is intended for crafters, cosmetic formulators, aromatherapists and entrepreneurs building a private-label product line.
What the 10-piece set contains
The package includes 10 identical 10 ml glass bottles, each filled with Styrax benzoin resin extract produced by solvent extraction and diluted in dipropylene glycol. The bottles arrive without labels, so you can apply your own branding, dosage instructions or design. Net content is 10 ml per bottle and the total weight is approximately 0.41 kg.
Botany: characteristics of benzoin resin
Styrax benzoin (Sumatra benzoin) is a tropical tree; when its trunk is wounded, a fragrant golden-brown resin exudes. The raw resin is solid and highly viscous and cannot be poured neat. Commercially available benzoin is therefore typically diluted in propylene glycol or alcohol to give a fluid, dispensable form. Main aromatic components: benzoic and cinnamic acid esters, vanillin.
Origin and production
The resin is sourced from Indonesia, from the island of Sumatra, where Styrax benzoin is native. The raw resin is processed by solvent extraction: insoluble matter is separated, and the aromatic fraction is then dissolved in a dipropylene glycol (DPG) carrier for a stable, liquid presentation.
Applications
- Private-label cosmetics: warming, vanilla-balsamic notes in creams and body oils
- Aromatherapy: calming, warming diffuser blends for the cooler months
- Perfumery: base note in oriental, amber and vanilla compositions; excellent fixative
- Soap making: warming aromatic note in cold-process soap
- Incense blends: liquid alternative to traditional resin incense
Storage and shelf life
Store the essential oil in a cool, dark place, preferably below 25 °C, in a tightly closed bottle. The propylene glycol dilution stabilises the resin extract; unopened, the benzoin extract typically keeps for 3-4 years. Once opened, it is advisable to use the content within 12-18 months. In cool storage the oil may thicken; placing the bottle in lukewarm water restores a dispensable viscosity.
