What closure do you recommend for the 1-litre bottle?

At 1-litre size, the application determines the choice. For refill systems or frequent dispensing, a flip cap (FC) is the most convenient — it opens with a single motion. For longer storage (more than three months), a screw cap is recommended, as it provides a tighter seal with less evaporation. A trigger spray head is generally not advisable at 1-litre size, as the bottle is hard to handle during misting — we suggest the spray variant in 250-500 ml sizes instead.

Is PET stable over the long term in 1-litre format?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Amber PET plastic retains its mechanical and UV-blocking properties stably for 2-3 years with normal cosmetic and household contents. Highly concentrated essential oil preparations — particularly citrus or pine varieties — may soften the plastic over a longer period. In such cases, dilute first in glass and only transfer the finished, low-concentration product into PET. Cool, dark storage extends the working life.

How is the inside of the 1-litre bottle cleaned?

A long-handled bottle brush is the most effective tool. First rinse with warm soapy water, then run the brush along the walls of the bottle. Rinse again with clean water and leave to dry completely upside down. After strongly scented contents (citrus, mint, eucalyptus), a final denatured-alcohol rinse helps remove residual odour. Avoid hot water and dishwasher use due to PET's heat sensitivity.
