Amber PET and UV protection
The amber-coloured plastic absorbs shorter wavelengths of visible light and the UV spectrum. Carrier oils, shampoo concentrates containing essential oils, hydrosols, and preparations with antioxidants can be stored substantially longer without the active ingredients losing their effect rapidly. PET is BPA-free, approved for food contact, lightweight, and effectively shatter-resistant — a significant advantage over glass at 1-litre format.
Choosing a closure
The 28 mm standard threaded neck accepts multiple closure types. For refill systems, a flip cap (FC) is often the most practical. For longer storage, a screw cap (SC) provides a tighter seal. For cleaning products and hydrosols, a trigger spray head is the logical choice; for thicker cosmetics, a pump dispenser. Cleaning and storage
Before first use, wash with warm water and a mild detergent, then rinse thoroughly. A long-handled bottle brush gives access to the inside surface. After strongly scented contents, a denatured-alcohol rinse is recommended to remove residual odour. Store the filled bottle in a dark, cool place. PET is heat-sensitive — avoid hot water and dishwasher use. The bottle is recyclable (RIC 1).
